PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by simplifying the speed control of a lens in autofocus. SOLUTION: The optical equipment has an actuator (30), transmission mechanisms (32 to 34) transmitting driving force from the actuator, a unit to be driven (2) driven by the driving force from the transmission mechanisms, a 1st detection means (4) detecting the rotation of the actuator, a 2nd detection means (5) detecting the driving of the unit to be driven, and a control means (7) controlling the actuator based on detection signals from the 1st and the 2nd detection means. When the actuator is driven, the control means discriminates the detection means outputting the prescribed amount of detection signals earlier out of the 1st and the 2nd detection means and controls the actuator according to output from the discriminated detection means.
