PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens meter with outside light incoming from the front and from the side being prevented from affecting the refraction measurement on a glasses lens, even in cases where a pattern plate is provided in a measurement optical system for measuring refractive power on a multitude of points of the glasses lens by dividing a measurement light beam into a multitude of light beams. SOLUTION: On at least one of optical system housing projection parts (an upper enclosure part 2, a lower enclosure part 3), a light shielding cover 142 is held in a forward or backward movable manner relative to a peripheral portion of an eyeglass lens disposition space 105. When the shielding cover 142 is moved out by a drive means (a pulse motor 130) into the peripheral portion of the disposition space 105, the shielding cover 142 is energized by an energizing means (own weight) from at least one of the projection parts (the enclosure parts 2 and 3) toward the other projection part side.
