PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a blast furnace with which the good reducing ratio can be realized over the whole zone in iron raw material layer, thereby a fuel ratio can be reduced and silicon content in molten iron can be reduced, etc. SOLUTION: In the blast furnace operating method for performing the operation by charging coke and iron raw material into the furnace, respectively and alternately laminating, since the iron raw material having <70% reducing ratio is mixed into the material having high reduced property having≥70% reducing ratio by 30-70 mass% based on the iron raw material, the good reducing ratio over the whole range of the iron raw material layer can be realized.
