PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element capable of sufficiently and stably suppressing expansion of a non-electroluminescent region with the passing of time, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The resin composition for sealing the organic electroluminescent element comprises (A) an epoxy resin, (B) a thermoset type curing agent and (C) a silane coupling agent as essential components, where crosslinking and curing is carried out by mixing (A), (B) and (C).
