A thermoplastic resin foam sheet employed preferably as various sealing materials in the fields of construction, civil engineering, electric, electronic, vehicle, and the like, and a method for producing a thermoplastic resin foam sheet. The thermoplastic resin foam sheet has a 25% compression strength of lower than 10 kPa in the thickness direction measured by a method conforming to JIS K 6767 and a 50% compression strength of higher than 10 kPa in the thickness direction measured by a method conforming to JIS K 6767.
