METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACRYLIC ACID

A method for acrylic acid which comprises using glycerol as a raw material, subjecting said raw material to a dehydrating reaction in a gas phase, and subjecting the gaseous reaction product resulting from said dehydrating reaction to a gas phase oxidation reaction. The above method is a novel method which allows the production of acrylic acid by the use of a raw material not originating from petroleum.
