摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of stably and easily measuring the total bloodstream quantity in a local circulation system of internal organs such as the heart over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This catheter 1 is detained in a position where a first opening 1a comes in a pulmonary artery, and a second opening 1b comes in a right atrium, respectively. Lithium is injected into the pulmonary artery from the first opening 1a by using an injector 11. A lithium concentration sensor 13 detects the concentration of the lithium in blood gathered from the second opening 1b, and determines the area S<SB>1</SB>of a concentration change in the lithium caused by the blood circulation of a coronal circulation system and the area S<SB>2</SB>of a concentration change in the lithium caused by the blood circulation of a systemic circulation system. The total coronal bloodstream quantity of the coronal circulation system is measured according to the total coronal bloodstream quantity = cardiac output &times; (S<SB>1</SB>/S<SB>2</SB>), by using the determined areas S<SB>1</SB>and S<SB>2</SB>and the cardiac output calculated by a cardiac output calculator 14 by a thermodilution method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
