<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight having a high specific gravity, exhibiting sufficient strength and adhesion and suitable for the securing member of an actuator, and to provide its production process, and an electromechanical conversion actuator employing that weight. <P>SOLUTION: The weight being fixed to an electromechanical conversion element comprises a base alloy containing tungsten within a range of 95-97.5 wt% and the remainder which is a binder containing one or two kinds of copper and nickel, and a nickel plating layer adhering to the surface of the base alloy.
