<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer multi-color image forming method by which high quality multi-color image recording can be performed in a short time, free from deterioration of the image quality, and a image sheet to be used for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer multi-color image forming method having a process for recording an image by facing and overlapping the ink layer for each ink sheet and the image layer of the image sheet using the image sheet comprising the image layer on a support and at least four or more kinds of ink sheets having at least a photothermal conversion layer and the ink layer on the support, irradiating the support side of the ink sheets with the laser beam to transfer the irradiation area of the ink layer on the image layer of the image sheet, the irradiation of the laser beam is conducted by a plurality of multi-channel exposure heads. The image sheet used for the image forming method further comprises a cushion layer, having a residual solvent quantity in the entire image sheet of 50 μl/m<SP>2</SP>or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
