<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drain and contaminated open air from flowing through a drain discharge path and a steam discharge path into a treatment chamber. <P>SOLUTION: This steam heating apparatus is equipped with the treatment chamber 2 for storing a material 1 to be treated, a steam supply means 3 for supplying steam to the treatment chamber 2, a pressure reduction means 5 for depressurizing the treatment chamber 2, a drain discharge valve 16 attached to the drain discharge path 12 for discharging drain in the treatment chamber 2, a pressure detection means 8 for detecting pressure in the treatment chamber 2, a control means 24 for controlling steam heating of the material to be treated by controlling the steam supply means 3 and the pressure reduction means 5.
