<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in electrode resistance, so as not to cause unnecessary voltage drop, and to prevent luminance reduction and uniformity deterioration of image quality by forming electrode protecting layers in portion portions of electrodes, brought into contact with a sealing member and preventing thermal cracking of electrode in sealing process. <P>SOLUTION: This flat panel display device includes a first substrate 20 and a second substrate 22, disposed to oppose each other with a predetermined gap therebetween, an electrode 32 made of a transparent conductive oxide film formed on at least one of the first substrate 20 and the second substrate 22, the sealing member 21 disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and bonding the first substrate and the second substrate to each other, electrode protecting layers 40, 42, 44 formed on portions of the electrodes overlapping with the sealing member 21 and between the sealing member 21 and the electrodes 23, 27, 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
