<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strut wherein the manufacturing cost of the strut can be reduced by reducing a wind load exerted on the strut and the installation cost can be reduced by lengthening a span length between the adjacent struts. <P>SOLUTION: The strut 10 is of a columnar shape, and an irregular portion 11 extending in the direction of its length is formed on its circumferential surface. Here, the "columnar shape" is one which includes a hollow core or a solid core. The strut 10 is formed into a hollow columnar shape and formed with a hollow portion 12 which extends in the axial direction. As materials for the strut 10, for example, reinforced concrete and metals may be listed. In this case, the strut 10 is formed of reinforced concrete provided with reinforcing bars 13. If the strut 10 is formed of reinforced concrete, it can be formed by pouring concrete into basket-shaped reinforcing bars 13.
