<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional liquid crystal display device of both a reflection type and a transmission type may decrease in contrast in transmission mode owing to a decrease in transmissivity and in reflection mode owing to a decrease in reflectivity of white display since a translucent reflecting plate and a translucent film are used, and is therefore inferior in visibility when compared with ordinary reflection type and transmission type liquid crystal display devices. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has pixel electrodes formed on opposite surfaces of an electrode substrate 4 and the other electrode substrates disposed opposite each other across a liquid crystal layer, and is configured to have a transparent electrode section formed of a transparent electrode film and a reflection electrode section formed of a reflection electrode film, which are electrically connected, on one pixel region of one pixel electrode. The transparent electrode section is provided with a 1st color filter 7a and the reflection electrode section is provided with a 2nd color filter 7b which is formed separately from the 1st color filter 7a and has different chromaticity from the 1st color filter 7a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
