<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell-culturing substrate which has a photo-responding surface having improved characteristics, such as improved photo-responsibility and cell adhesiveness, and improved film formability, improved film strength, and the like, and to provide a simple method for selectively separating and recovering only a desired cell or cell group from cultured cells, especially such as anchorage-depending cells or nerve cells, without damaging the functions of the cells, or for culturing the cells along a desired pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The photo-responding surface whose cell adhesiveness and/or cell-proliferating property can be stimulated by the irradiation of light after the sowing of cells is formed from a photo-responding composition comprising a photo-responding component and a polyalkylene glycol. The desired region of the photo-responding surface of the cell-culturing substrate is irradiated with light. Thereby, only the desired cell or cell group is selectively separated and recovered, or the cells are cultured along an arbitrary pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
