<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealing performance of an optical waveguide module constituted by connecting an optical fiber to an optical fiber and putting them in a case. <P>SOLUTION: A bare module to which a coated fiber 24 is connected is put in a case 22 in sealed structure and the coated fiber 24 is led out of the case 22 while penetrating the case 22. Epoxy resin 51 is charged in the gap between the coated fiber 24 and case 22 where the coated fiber 24 penetrates the case 22 to seal the gap and also fix the coated fiber 24 to the case 22. Further, the coating of the coated fiber 24 is impregnated with the epoxy resin 51 to increase the density of the coating of the part where coated fiber 24 penetrates the case 22, thereby sealing the coating inner side so that steam, gas, etc., entering the coating of the coated fiber 24 can not enter the case 22 through the coating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
