摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pn junction solar cell in which sufficient electrode strength is attained without damaging the field effect by a rear surface field region while ensuring excellent long term reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell comprises a one conductivity type semiconductor substrate 1 having a light receiving surface and a non-light receiving surface, a region 2 having a conductivity type reverse to that of the semiconductor substrate formed on the light receiving surface side, a surface electrode 5 formed on the light receiving surface side, a rear surface field region 4a having a conductivity type identical to that of the semiconductor substrate 1 formed on the non-light receiving surface side, and a rear surface electrode 6 formed on the non-light receiving surface side. The solar cell is further provided with a contact part 7 where the rear surface electrode 6 and the semiconductor substrate 1 touch each other not through the rear surface field region 4a and existing on the inside of a line S1 indicating the outline position of a first shape formed by projecting the outline of the surface electrode 5 to the direction intersecting the light receiving surface perpendicularly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
