PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator suitable for miniaturization of the entire structure. SOLUTION: In the piezoelectric oscillator, a rectangular container body 1 housing a piezoelectric vibrating element 5 in the inside is fixed on a rectangular packaging base 6 on which an IC element 7 for outputting an oscillation signal corresponding to the oscillation frequency of the element 5 is mounted, via spacer members 12 consisting of metallic posts disposed along the external periphery of the packaging base 6. The IC element 7 is coated with a resin material 13 whose external peripheral portion extends to the external peripheral portion of the packaging base 6, at least an internal side face of each of the spacer members 12 is inclined so that the top region is positioned nearer to the center of gravity of the spacer member 12 than the bottom region, and the inclined surface is coated with the extending portion of the resin material 13.
