PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for driving fastening elements which can change a successive drive mode and a single drive mode by the manipulation procedure of an operator without requiring a changing means such as a changing pin. SOLUTION: The apparatus for driving fastening elements includes a mechanism 18 for controlling the successive drive mode and the single drive mode which is arranged between the end 21 of a safety yoke 11 and a trigger lever 14. The mechanism for controlling the successive drive mode and the single drive mode includes an operation lever 29 which engages with the end 21 of the safety yoke and a trip lever 19, a stopper 30 which engages with the trigger lever 14, and a pin 27 which rotatably and coaxially supports the operation lever 29 and the stopper 30. In the single drive mode, when the trigger lever has been pulled, the trigger lever tightly engages with the stopper, and the stopper holds the operation lever at a position where the trip lever forcibly pushes up a valve pin. As a result, only single drive becomes possible. In the successive drive mode, the stopper does not restrict the movement of the operation lever even when the trigger lever has been pulled, and the trip lever becomes movable with respect to the valve pin by the movement of the end portion of the safety yoke via the operation lever.
