PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the shortage of pipes used for the circulation of steam, and to prevent the accumulation of lime scale which gradually disturbs flow of the steam to vent holes in an ironing plate. SOLUTION: A domestic steam iron is equipped with an ironing member or the ironing plate, an evaporation part or an evaporation device where water from a water collecting part built in the iron is supplied, an evaporation chamber where the steam, passing in the ironing plate and released to the outside from the holes formed on the ironing plate through the the front opening of the evaporation device, is produced, exothermic bodies for the ironing plate and for the evaporation device, automatic temperature adjustment devices for the ironing plate and for the evaporation device, and temperature fuses for the ironing plate and for the evaporation device. The evaporation chamber has a rear exit communicating with the front opening of the evaporation device through a pair of deep pipes.
