<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer with a function to prevent peripheral equipment of a communication partner from being destroyed physically when abnormality occurs to an oscillator. <P>SOLUTION: The microcomputer includes a clock monitor circuit for receiving a clock signal to monitor a state of the clock signal; a communication interface for operating in accordance with a register value of a control register to communicate externally; a core circuit for operating on the basis of the clock signal and controlling operation of the communication interface by setting the register value of the control register; and a register set circuit which sets the control register of the communication interface to a predetermined register value in response to the clock monitor circuit which has detected abnormality of the clock signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
