摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and easily detect a leak location and leak rate regardless of a state of a fluid flowing in a pipe. <P>SOLUTION: At each of pipe locations (blocks 3a, 3b and 3c) desired to detect a leak in a pipe 3 carrying the fluid, flow rate detectors 1a to 1e and 1g are provided to measure the flow rates of the fluid flowing in a normal direction and an opposite direction to the normal direction putting an inverse sign. The correspondence between the signs of direction of the fluid flowing is made the same for the normal direction for all the flow rate detectors. In block 3a for example at this moment, the normal direction goes to the location in at least one flow rate detector 1a, and the opposite direction goes to the location in at least one of flow rate detectors 1b and 1e. When the absolute value of the difference between the flow rate f1 measured by flow rate detector 1a and the sum of f2 and f5 measured by flow rate detectors 1b and 1e exceeds a specific value, the detection of a leak is recognized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
