PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residence monitor apparatus for surely confirming residence of a resident wherein monitor is not recognized by the resident. SOLUTION: When detecting a change in the lightness in a room due to turning ON / OFF of illumination, a state change detection means 21 opens a cover 221 of a monitor camera 22 to photograph a state in the room, transmits image data to a reception means 26 at a remote place via a communication medium 25 so that the residence of a person and its behavior can surely be confirmed, the residence is not always photographed, a mental pain of being monitored at all times can be relaxed, and since the frequency of photographing is small, a communication amount of the image data to the reception means 26 can be decreased.
