PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor using carbon dioxide natural refrigerant as refrigerant, having improved reliability by using polyalkylene glycol or polyalphaolefin as base oil of lubricating oil for preventing abnormal wear between a roller and a vane. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor 1 uses carbon dioxide as the refrigerant and polyalkylene glycol (an official name) or polyalphaolefin (an official name) as the lubricating oil, or mineral oil as the base oil. It uses the vane 40 whose portion in slide contact with the roller 38 has a radius of curvature Rv (cm) represented by the following expression 1: T<Rv<Rr, where T is the thickness (cm) of the vane and Rr is the outer periphery radius of curvature (cm) of the roller in slide contact with the vane.
