PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency in drawing a lower conveying part out of a body without causing the loss or damage of media by making clamping force in an upper conveying passage and clamping force in a lower conveying passage differ from each other at a delivery part so that the media always remain at one of an upper conveying part and the lower conveying part when drawing the upper conveying part or the lower conveying part out of the body. SOLUTION: This medium handling device 10 has the upper conveying part 13 having a medium in/out part for putting in/out media, and the upper conveying passage 18 for conveying the media, and the lower conveying part 14 having a medium storage part for storing the media, and the lower conveying passage 19 for conveying the media, wherein the upper conveying part 13 and the lower conveying part 14 are mounted in a drawable manner. The clamping force at the upper conveying passage 18 and the clamping force at the lower conveying passage 19 differ at the delivery part 15 for delivering the media between the upper conveying passage 18 and the lower conveying passage 19.
