PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce exposure variations due to the error in the diaphragm diameter, without making the response of an imaging unit deteriorated. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, shutter release time lag is reduced by omitting a photometric operation to be performed, in order to correct drive errors of diaphragm at the time of main exposure photography when the diaphragm value set at automatic focusing and the diaphragm value set at the main exposure photographing are the same.
