PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetection apparatus capable of obtaining an incident light intensity distribution at the same timing even when the incident light intensity distribution changes temporally. SOLUTION: The first signal processing part 21 of the photodetection apparatus includes read circuits R<SB>A, 1</SB>to R<SB>A, M'</SB>, holding circuits H<SB>A, 1, 1</SB>to H<SB>A, M, 1'</SB>, holding circuits H<SB>A, 1, 2</SB>to H<SB>A, M, 2</SB>and a subtraction circuit S<SB>A</SB>. A read circuit R<SB>A, m</SB>is connected to wiring L<SB>A, m</SB>, holds electric charges transferred through the wiring L<SB>A, m</SB>, and outputs a voltage value corresponding to the amount of the held charges. The wiring L<SB>A, m</SB>electrically connects N pieces of photodiodes existing in the m-th row among photodiodes arranged two-dimensionally in M rows and N columns. A holding circuit H<SB>A, m, 1</SB>has its input terminal connected to the output terminal of the read circuit R<SB>A, m</SB>through a switch SW<SB>11</SB>, holds a voltage value output from the read circuit R<SB>A, m</SB>and outputs the held voltage value when the switch SW<SB>11</SB>is closed.
