PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone with a camera control function by which a further inexpensive remote monitoring system with simple operation can be composed and a sneak thief, robbery in the vehicle, and states of a child and a pet in an empty home can be easily confirmed. SOLUTION: The portable telephone with a camera control function is composed so that a casing B can execute opening/closing operation in U and D directions (vertical operation) and rotating operation in L and R directions (lateral operation) to a casing A, and that a photographing angle of a camera 106 of the casing B can be adjusted. The portable telephone is remotely controlled by an e-mail or the like from a remote controller. Consequently, vertical and lateral positions of a camera angle, a zooming function, and exposure or the like are designated. A photographed image from the camera 106 in the designated setting state is acquired with the e-mail. Sound of a monitoring place is monitored by a microphone. When the sound exceeding the volume preset to a storage is confirmed, photographing with camera is executed. Photographing is executed for every n hour of a certain fixed time. An image difference is extracted for every photographing. The camera angle setting and the zoom adjustment are automatically executed.
