PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical controller which enables a comment display in a plurality of languages by a single sequence program, and with a built-in programable controller whose maintenance screen displays appropriate comment suitable for the screen. SOLUTION: In an information domain of signal in a sequence program, comments about the signal of an address or the sequence program are stored for every languages corresponding to the address, and the languages are stored as display (language) attributes correspondingly (refer (a) of Figure). When a language is set (for example, English is set) and ladder diagram is displayed, the comment (a second comment in English) is displayed about the address with comments in a set language (English) (refer (c) of Figure).
