PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform data protection enhancement of a disk device used from a plurality of computers or a plurality of programs. SOLUTION: Input/output to a logical volume 141 is processed by a connection control program 15. An input/output execution control part 152 refers to a connection state value between an input/output issuing source computer, and the target logical volume or a target logical area obtained from a connection information definition part 154, and decides whether the input/output to the logical volume 141 or the logical area 142 is permitted or not. The input/output to the logical volume or the logical area that is a target is executed when the input/output is permitted, and the input/output is not executed when it is not permitted. Connection information used in the input/output execution control part 152 is set to the connection information definition part 154 by a definition execution part 124 on a computer 120. The connection information can be also set to the connection information definition part 154 by use of a definition execution part 133 on a disk controller 130.
