PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem; with respect to an image forming apparatus using a-Si photoreceptors, when a tandem type full color copying machine is loaded with photoreceptors, surface potential (charge potential) on the photoreceptors cannot be obtained to a satisfactory extent, whereby image density is not obtained to a satisfactory extent. SOLUTION: In a tandem type image forming method, a-Si photoreceptors have a diameter (ϕ) of 20-80 mm, a two-component developing method with a surface potential of 300-450 V and an SD gap of 350-800μm is adopted, each developing sleeve has a peripheral speed 1.1-4.0 times that of each photoreceptor drum, a toner particle diameter is 4-10μm, a carrier particle diameter is 10-80μm, coloring power of each toner is 1.0-1.8, and difference between the maximum and minimum values of coloring powers of YMC is≤0.5.
