PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and reliable double sliding door type vertical elevator requiring a small installation area, with a landing door and a cage door automatically locked, and not limited to be used for a two-storied building. SOLUTION: In the double sliding door type vertical elevator, hook arms 301, 302 having hook parts 311, 311 engaging with hook receptacles 901, 902 are respectively journaled to surfaces of the cage door 11 and the landing door 21 facing to each other. Swing bars 401, 402 projecting upward/downward from the hook arms 301, 302 are fixed to the hook arms 301, 302. Guide rollers 701, 702 are provided at positions adjacent to upper projecting parts of the swing bars 402, 401 projecting from the counterpart hook arms 302, 301 on the door-closing side. Guide rollers 801, 802 are provided at positions adjacent to lower projecting parts of the swing bars 402, 401 projecting from the counterpart hook arms 302, 301 on the door-opening side.
