PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the same MRI apparatus to use a receiving coil incorporating no preamplifier and a receiving coil incorporating the preamplifier. SOLUTION: This MRI apparatus is provided with a route having the preamplifier, a route having no preamplifier, and a switch selecting either of the two routes in a receiving system and changes the routes according to whether the preamplifier is incorporated or not. This constitution allows the same MRI apparatus to obtain a receiving signal without dependence on the form of the receiving coil to provide the MRI apparatus independent of the form of the receiving coil.
