<p>An installation for separating/classifying a mixture of granules and powder comprises: (A) a raw material silo with analyzers for chemical and physical characterization; (B) a shaker box or vibrating tray unit with at least one inclined separator surface and off-take channel; (C) a supplementary electromagnetic, tribo-electric, electrostatic separator, or sieve unit; (D) a unit for collecting the separated fractions. An independent claim is included for a vibratory separator unit, of generally V-shape profile, with at least one of the limbs forming an extended, shallow inclined separator surface (14) to which the mixture (30) is fed. The surface is continuously vibrated e.g. via an eccentric drive (10), causing granules (31) to gravitate downwards to a lower take off trough, while powder (34) migrates upwards. Multiple separator units can be employed in parallel and/or series.</p> |
