A garment textile has cotton fibres that are permanently modified by a chemical reaction between fibre OH-groups and a reactive chemical dye. The textile is permanently dyed and the colour degradation is no more than three degrees colour deviation on the grey scale following repeated washing. The maximum colour degradation is between 4 and 5 degrees following 15 to 25 washes. The colour is black, brown or green.
