The method involves automatically guiding the push/pull element (3,4) during its rotational movement on the drive motor (1) until its unrestricted tangential movement coincides for the most part with the work direction (A). the push/pull element is only automatically guided inside a predetermined rotational angle but otherwise runs free. Independent claim describes actuating device where a compulsory guide (7) is provided for the push/pull element on the drive motor.
