<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophtalmic instrument that can appropriately quantify a stage of progress of dry eye with accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The ophtalmic instrument comprises an illumination optical system to illuminate a subject eye, an imaging means to carry out color imaging of an interference pattern in a tear film of the subject eye created by the illumination, and an analysis means to resolve a captured color image mentioned above into a plurality of color components, to determine an interference pattern appearing in each color component from a signal of each resolved color component, and to calculate a value showing the stage of progress of dry eye from the number of the interference patterns determined in each color component or a signal level variation of the interference pattern determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
