PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device increasing the printing speed at low paper feeding speed while maintaining reliability without impairing a design advantage such as the position accuracy tolerance of an FRR system, and an image forming device equipped with the paper feeding device. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device has a lead-out roller 4 for delivering paper from a stacked paper sheaf P, and a separative feeding part comprising a feed roller 2 for feeding the delivered paper, and a separating member 3 abutting on the feed roller 2 to impede the conveyance of a second sheet onward when a large number of sheets are delivered. A detecting means 13 for detecting paper is provided between the stacked paper sheaf P and the separative feeding part. In the case the detecting means 13 detects no paper when the fed paper passes through the separative feeding part in performing continuous paper feeding, the next paper to be fed 11 is delivered without stopping the drive of the lead-out roller 4.
