PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a paper sheet without a flaw or contamination on the paper sheet. SOLUTION: This paper sheet conveying device is provided with upper and lower guide means 1 and 2 separated and confronted through a conveying surface of the paper sheet 10 and having a belt shaped elastic body for guiding the paper sheet 10 to be conveyed, a plurality of nozzle units 3 and 4 arranged on the upper and lower guide means 1 and 2 with predetermined intervals along the conveying direction of the paper sheet 10 and jetting compressed fluid to the conveying surface of the paper sheet 10 from nozzle holes 3a and 4a, and a control part for conveying the paper sheet 10 in a non-contact way with respect to the pair of the guide means 1 and 2 by variously controlling jetting pressure of the compressed fluid of the plurality of the nozzle units 3 and 4 along the paper sheet conveying direction.
