PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of allowing a driver to easily recognize completion of energization control to a motor as an abnormality of sensors or the like occurs. SOLUTION: When a condition for an energization control completion is established, the normal assist torque is stopped, and a display unit is lit so as to be recognized by a driver. The information assist torque smaller than the normal assist torque in which the fluctuation of the assist torque is understood by the driver, and the steering feeling is not degraded is provided for a predetermined time so as to be recognized by the driver. Thereafter, the assist torque at the control completion which is larger than the information assist torque and smaller than the normal assist torque is provided. By gradually reducing the assist torque at the control completion, it is recognized by the driver that the control is completed even when recognition cannot be performed by the information assist torque.
