PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device equipped with an imaging function capable of shortening time required for the focusing of the automatic focus function of an imaging means when the imaging direction of the imaging means is switched from either of a direction nearly the same as the display direction of a display means suitable for long-distance photography and a nearly opposite direction suitable for short-distance photography to the other. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device equipped with an imaging function has an imaging direction detection means 54 detecting which direction the imaging means 32 turns to, the 1st imaging direction or the 2nd imaging direction. When detecting that the imaging means turns to the 1st imaging direction, a focus lens 38 is moved to a 1st prescribed position and then starts to move toward a position corresponding to a close photographic distance to perform focusing, and when detecting that the imaging means turns to the 2nd imaging direction, the focus lens is moved to a 2nd prescribed position and then starts to move toward a position corresponding to an infinity photographic distance to perform focusing.
