PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image detection system which can perform image detection with sufficient accuracy, concerning an image detection system having a optical guide means which transmits light of one edge side incidence from the interior of a detected body to other edge side and further in which inclination angle of one edge side is set to absorb incidence light from air, and a photodetection means which converts light that penetrates the optical guide means into electric signal. SOLUTION: This invention is an image detection system having an optical guide means (14) which transmits light of one edge side incidence from the interior of a detected body to other edge side and further in which inclination angle of one edge side is set to absorb incidence light from air, and a photodetection means (15, 31) which converts light that penetrates the optical guide means (14) into electric signal; and this system is characterized by having a state detection means (32) which detects state of the detected body based on detection pattern of the photodetection means (15, 31).
