PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and strong brake device for a linear guide. SOLUTION: In this brake device for a linear guide, a housing 2 is provided to fit to both inclined side surface 11, 12 of a guide rail 1, a brake member 3 is provided to be pressed to a surface 13 facing to the mount surface of the guide rail, and an energizing wedge 5 is provided through a cylindrical roller 4 between the brake member and the housing.
