PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure durability of trunnions 22, 22 and implement downsizing and weight reduction of a whole toroidal type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: Supporting shaft parts 49, 49 whose lower half parts are non-circular parts and upper half parts are male screw parts are disposed to upper end parts of the trunnions 22, 22. Pulleys 31a, 31b for hanging synchronizing cables 32c, 32d therebetween are externally fitted with a state where the rotation is prevented by non-circular fitting, and are held down with nuts 51, 51. The nuts 51, 51 are respectively hidden in recesses 52b, 52b formed in center parts of upper surfaces of upper pulleys 31b, 31b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
