PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the service life of a ball screw used under high-speed and high-load conditions. SOLUTION: This ball screw is constituted so that a ratio(d/D) of the diameter (d) of a ball to the diameter (D) of a pitch circle is set at 0.10 to 0.20 (including both ends), a screw body and a nut may be formed out of steel of which chrome (Cr) content is 2.5 to 15 mass% incl., and so that the hardness of a surface portion of a screw groove surface may be at least Hv 653.
