GAS TURBINE COOLING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling system having an increased fuel cooling capacity for absorbing a greater heat quantity from cooled air. SOLUTION: The gas turbine engine cooling system comprises a fuel deoxidizer for increasing the fuel cooling capacity. The fuel deoxidizer removes dissolved gas from fuel for suppressing the formation of insoluble deposits. The suppression of the insoluble deposits increases an effective fuel cooling capacity. The increased cooling capacity of the deoxidized fuel provides a greater heat sink for cooling air to be used for protecting engine structural members. The improved cooling capacity of the cooled air provides an increased engine working temperature for improving whole engine efficiency. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
