METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ORGANIC WASTE TREATMENT

An aerobic microorganism and a moisture-controlling agent are added to the subject organic waste to be treated so that the moisture content of the subject is controlled to about 50 to 60%. Then it is heated to about 20 to 40°C by kneading under elevated pressure. Next, the product having been kneaded under elevated pressure is milled and granulated and thus shaped into air-permeable grains. Then the grains are pooled in a fermentation tank and fermented under aerobic conditions with air-blowing and stirring. According to this method, aerobic fermentation can be quickly promoted even in the case of highly viscous organic waste such as sludge and compost with high qualities can be obtained within a short period of time while lessening bad smell.
