<p>Apparatus for converting torque are provided. In one form the apparatus is for converting a relatively small input torque into a greater output torque, and the apparatus includes an input portion (11, 12, 13) adapted to receive an input torque, an input gear (27, 28, 29) connected to the input portion; an output gear (19), and an output portion (16), adapted to provide an output torque, connected to the output gear, wherein the input gear interacts directly with the output gear. Multiple input portions may be provided, and each input portion may cause a different torque ratio between input and output.</p> |
