PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning surge protector circuit which meets the safety standards of each country by providing the lightning surge protector circuit between a telephone line and a commercial power line through a reinforced insulating means. SOLUTION: The communication unit connected to a telephone line has a lightning surge protector circuit for protecting a communication apparatus against a lightning surge voltage/current penetrating from the line, a reinforced insulating element provided between the lightning surge protector circuit and the commercial power line, and a route for escaping the lightning surge to the commercial power line through the reinforced insulating element.
