PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power series type digital predistorter capable of applying nonlinear distortion compensation to a power amplifier with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The power series type digital predistorter includes a distortion introducing means that introduces a nonlinear distortion signal of a prescribed degree to a received digital signal and compensates the nonlinear distortion of a power amplification means. The distortion introducing means includes: a multiplying means for raising a signal to the above degree; and a finite impulse response filter means connected in series with the multiplying means. Further, the predistorter includes an adaptive control means for receiving a reference signal and applying adaptive control to the tap coefficient of the finite impulse response filter means so as to bring the reference signal close to a desired value. Since the tap coefficient of the finite impulse response filter means is adaptively controlled, the compensation accuracy can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
