PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission system, a data transmission method, and a control program for easily transmitting document data generated by a mobile information terminal and document data acquired from an apparatus other than the mobile information terminal at the same time. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of document data and information such as a transmission address from the mobile information terminal 200, a CPU 108 of a multifunctional printer 100 controls to urge a user to select document data or the like read from an original by a scanner section 104 of the multifunctional printer 100, to merge the document data received from the mobile information terminal 200 and the selected document data into one file and also and to transmit the file to the transmission destination related to the transmission destination information received from the mobile information terminal 200.
